Sardinia – A special bread on every occasion

Capacity max: from 2 to 15 people

Description

The art of ritual artistic baking is typical of Sardinia culture. Ritual breads were prepared in ancient times on special occasions as important moments in the life of a person or to celebrate some religious holidays.

In this experience you will visit the Museum of Ritual Bread, you will witness a demonstration of ritual artistic baking and you will have the chance to try your hand at this art.

Initially, you will visit the Museum of Ritual Bread, unique in its kind as it welcomes a patrimony of about 800 loaves, coming from 74 Sardinian villages. The visit to the Museum allows first of all the discovery of the art of ritual artistic baking and then the approach to the meaning of the symbols and forms most used in the bread making process.

The museum itinerary goes through 7 pavilions, explaining the art of ritual artistic baking:
– ethnographic pavilion that houses all the tools related to bread (sowing, harvesting of wheat, making various flour, bread making)
– the breads of marriage
– the children’s breads
– the processional breads
– the Easter breads
– the loaves of festivities and saints
– the loaves of the barnyard.

Later, you will witness a demonstration of ritual artistic baking: some expert local bakers carry out a demonstration, with an explanation, of Borore’s typical artistic bakery.
Finally, the experience will culminate in a bakery laboratory where you can try your hand at the art of artistic baking, accompanied by the expert hands of local bakers.
